Air Quality Awareness Week

Did you know that this week (April 29-May 3) is National Air Quality Awareness Week?
One way to improve the quality of the air in your home is to clean your HVAC ducts. These ducts are responsible for your homes heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, and also make sure the air in your home is filtered from dust, pollen, and other contaminates. It is recommended that your HVAC ducts be cleaned every 3-5 years, but if there is an accumulation of dust or other debris, cleaning may be needed more often. Here are a few signs that your ducts may be due to be cleaned:
- there is visible mold growth around your vents
- there is a buildup of dust and debris
- there has been an infestation of insects, rodents, or other unwelcome vermin
If these signs are ignored, blockages could form in your ducts and create bigger or more expensive problems like mold or mildew growth in your home and higher utility bills due to your unit working twice as hard. Our highly trained and certified technicians at SERVPRO of Wilson/Nashville will make recommendations about the best ways to address your concerns regarding your indoor air quality.
